Session Times

Meadow Nursery School is a traditional, term time only preschool. Our primary focus is on the child, their emotional well-being and providing them a safe, stimulating and fun nursery environment. From September 2024, Meadow Nursery School will be offering full day spaces* for our 3 and 4 year olds (8:45am-3:30pm). The full day spaces can be accessed with a 30-hour code or by families where the 15 hours’ childcare is not sufficient and therefore added on for an additional sessional cost.

 

​For families entitled to 15 hours’ nursery education, you can access your 15 hours in the following ways:

1. Children can attend one 3-hour session per day, over 5 days equating 15 hours. If lunch clubs are required that would be at an extra cost of £5.50 per lunch club.

2. Children can attend 4 sessions with lunch clubs which equates to 15 hours.

3. Children eligible for 15-hour funding have the option to attend two full days per week. Due to our opening hours, 2 full days equates to 13.5 hours of your funding.

4. You do not have to attend all 5 sessions or take the whole 15 hours of funding.

 

Flexibility will continue, so you can pick the number of sessions to reflect your child’s needs. However, there is a minimum requirement of 2 three-hour sessions, over 2 days each week.​​​

For families entitled to 30 hours' nursery education, you can attend up to two sessions per day which will be covered by the government funding. Please note you do not have to use your full entitlement, but rather pick sessions that suit your needs. Here are some examples of how you could use your funding at Meadow Nursery School:

1. You could use a selection of half and full days. For example attend 2 full days and 3 half days.

2. To access your full 30 hours funding, without having to pay for additional hours, your child can attend 4 full days and one morning or afternoon session on the fifth day. Lunch is not included in the half day.

3. If you wish to attend 5 full days with there will be a chargeable fee as the hours your child attends will be over the 30-hour funding.

On special occasions the nursery may organise trips or parties for the children. On these days hours may be adjusted and parental involvement required e.g farm trip, panto trip or end of term party. Notice will be given prior to the event and we apologise for any inconvenience this causes; however, it is always done to enhance the children’s experiences.

 

In exceptional circumstances there may be an event that triggers the closure of Meadow Nursery School, for example transport strikes, severe adverse weather conditions, personal health or acts of terrorism. In such or similar circumstances, Meadow Nursery School will not be held responsible, nor will we issue refunds for such forced closures.

 

Meadow Nursery School will be closed for bank holidays and inset training days during the academic year.

Please note - As the end of the afternoon session coincides with the finish time of many other schools, we will open our doors for collection from 3:20 pm. We therefore ask that children be collected from Meadow Nursery School before going to other schools if you cannot get to nursery by 3:30pm. You can come earlier if 3:20pm-3:30pm does not suit your school collection times. If this is the case, please talk to us at the start of term.
