About Us

"Children confidently play in a comfortable and exceptionally welcoming environment." Ofsted 2015

What is Meadow Nursery School really about?

We are a small nursery with a big heart.

We develop, encourage and grow our children. We believe that the individual is at the center of their learning journery.  A journey that starts with us.

Meadow Nursery was established in 1978 and is a registered charity which is administered and supported by a volunteer run Management Committee.

Meadow Nursery takes children from the term they turn three until they are ready to start school.

Meadow Nursery is a traditional preschool.  We differ from other long day nurseries; children arrive and leave at the same time and attend for one session a day during term time.  You can opt for your child to do a 3 hour morning session or a 3 hour afternoon session, or a combination of both through the week.  The session time can be extended by 1 hour by opting to do a lunch club.

Ofsted

In December 2019 Ofsted rated us outstanding for the forth consecutive inspection.

We  proud of the staff for all their hard work in achieving this phenomenal result and the committee who support them - and of course the children! They were the real stars of the show! They were engaging with the inspector, polite and courteous and this was mentioned in the report.  The nursery rightfully achieved an Outstanding rating across all areas and overall.   It is unbelievably difficult to achieve this and very few do achieve this.    It is a phenomenal achievement.

Here's what they had to say about us...

"The exceptionally committed manager and staff use their significant experience and knowledge to create an inspirational, welcoming and nurturing environment".

"Children demonstrate confidence, are happy and settled and have incredible fun in the stimulating environment".

"All children, including children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), children in receipt of additional funding and those learning English as an additional language, flourish in the environment."

"All children, including children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), children in receipt of additional funding and those learning English as an additional language, flourish in the environment."

Throughout the report it praises staff and their leadership saying that staff are; “highly skilled”, “exceptional role models”, “knowledgeable”, “have high quality interactions” and so on.  The committee is exceptionally proud of the staff.

The report was a pleasure to read.
